The recent DirecTV Now 2.0 update is creating various login issues for some subscribers, many of whom are being told to “hang tight” and use third-party apps to access the service until issues are resolved.
First, make sure your Apple TV is running tvOS 10 or higher. Then: Go to the App Store. Search for and choose AT&T TV. Select Get for free. If prompted, enter your Apple ID password. Important: When you set up your AT&T TV device at home, that location becomes the residential, non-mobile internet network associated with your device. DIRECTV offers the #1 satellite TV service in the nation to watch entertainment, breaking and local news, weather, and more at home on the big screen. You can also sign in to your account and stream TV or watch on demand with our mobile app on all your favorite devices, like your laptop, phones, and tablets. I don't know about DirecTV or Smartcast specifically, but if you have an Apple TV you can stream anything from an iOS device onto your TV using AirPlay. The only thing is that your Apple TV and your iOS device need to be connected to the same WIFI network, and (assuming this on a boat) that might be difficult.
The various reports of issues began almost immediately after the release of the version 2.0 update this past Tuesday, with subscribers reporting the issues via DirecTV Now’s Twitter account…
@DIRECTVNowHelp Help! I am unable to log in to my Directv Now account. I can't use chat since I can't log in. I can't log in on the web and my Apple TV.

Over 20 reports through Twitter were made of the same login issue. BESTAppleTV.com has followed up with four of those publicly reporting issues. Three of the four report they are still unable to log in, some more than three days after first encountering problems.
DirecTV Now and its parent company, AT&T, are telling customers that until the issue is resolved, they can access their accounts through their web browser, various mobile apps and directly through the apps of various networks that allow sign-on with their DirecTV Now accounts, the latter being a tedious process that restricts users from watching more than one channel at a time.

Availability of signing in with your TV provider may vary by country or region. Snipping tool on apple computer.
Sign in with your TV provider
You can sign in with your TV provider in Settings or the first time you use a supported app. After you sign in, any other supported app automatically signs you in so you don't need to enter your information again. If your TV provider has its own app, your device might automatically download it after you sign in.
Sign in from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
You can sign in with only one TV provider at a time. Here's how:
![For For](https://www.animationmagazine.net/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/corn-and-peg2.jpg)
- Make sure that you have the latest version of iOS or iPadOS.
- Go to the Settings app, then tap TV Provider.
- Select your TV provider* from the list.
- Enter your TV provider account information. If you aren’t sure, contact your TV provider.
- After you enter your TV provider account information, tap Sign In.
*If your TV provider supports signing in with your TV provider, then you'll be prompted to enter your username and password for your TV provider. If your TV provider doesn't support signing in with your TV provider, your TV provider is saved so you don’t have to select it again, but you’ll still need to sign in to each app with your TV provider account information.
Change or sign out of your TV provider
If you change TV providers, you can remove your current TV provider account information or set up a different one:
- On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, open the Settings app.
- Tap TV Provider.
- Tap Remove TV Provider or Sign Out.
- In the pop-up that appears, tap again to confirm.
- Choose your new TV provider from the list, then follow the steps to sign in.
